If products from China concern you, certainly it is valuable to pay visit to China and review your competitors in detail. But how to review all major producers in a tight schedule? China Export Commodities Fair (CECF) may help.

One stop sourcing

The China Export Commodities Fair (CECF) also known as 'Canton Fair', is the biggest fair in China. According to open information we gathered, about 400 companies in pipe or fitting of metal or plastics attended the 95th CECF, which includes about 40% manufacturers and 60% traders. At least one third of total producers are holding an ISO 9001/9002 certificate. From SME to Asian's biggest extruder, from metal to plastic, from north to south, a trip in the fair saves a tour around China.

Nevertheless, to locate a competent manufacturer for upper market products could still be difficult. According to our investigation, less than 5% of these companies are holding more than one international approval, which could possibly result from high certification cost and strict product quality management system requirement. Only few established players, like Foshan Rifeng, can afford the resource needed for certain most demanding accreditations, such as the SKZ of Germany and NSF of United States.

In brief, Major China pipe and fitting producers can be seen in China Export Commodities Fair (CECF). While many competitors are holding an ISO9001/9002 certificate, a few leading extruders has obtained extra accreditations and got ready for higher demand from customer.

World's No.3 fair

The wide coverage of manufacturers attracted 160,000 buyers and sales result was satisfactory. The sale in 95th CECF, April 2004 set a record high of 24.5 billion USD. In fact, it has been rated by the AUMA (Association of the German Trade Fair Industry) as No.3 biggest fair among the world's annual exhibitions. In 95th CECF, construction material achieved sales of 590 million USD, a 113.7% growth than last year, of which about 90% sales were made in the first phase of this session. Such trend is believed to continue in the next session of CECF and competent producers of pipe and fittings shall benefit from it.
