RIFENG Group Will Invest a Factory in Ethiopia

Jul. 07, 2021
RIFENG Group is going to set up a piping factory in Ethiopia in furtherance of offering Ethiopian people more reliable piping solutions. The factory is scheduled to start operation in 2022. Once operational, it can produce up to 43 million meters of pipes every year, which will be applied in residential and commercial buildings, infrastructures, etc.

A serious lack of safe drinking water in Ethiopia for decades
According to the 2020 Human Development Report published by the UN1, 97% water bodies in Ethiopia are of good quality. Ethiopia is the second-most populous country in Africa, yet 87% of the population lives without basic access to safe drinking water. More specifically, portable water plumbed by pipes is accessible to 24 million urban residents, but inaccessible to 90.8 million rural residents.

The lack of safe drinking water and sanitation is the biggest cause of disease in the world. One of the most necessary measures of enhancing drinking water safety is to improve its supporting facilities.

RIFENG Multilayer Pipes: the revolutionary born for safer and lead-free plumbing
At the end of the 20th century, China encountered a similar water safety problem with Ethiopia. Considerable Chinese people used galvanized steel pipes for water supply. But galvanized steel pipes are susceptible to corrosion and rusting. Lead, a dangerous toxin, may build when the pipes corrode. Galvanized plumbing could pose a dangerous health hazard if not replaced with updated, safer pipes. Given that, RIFENG Group firstly introduced Multilayer Pipe into China.

Built with high quality materials under rigorous quality management, Multilayer Pipe is of excellent resistance to heat, pressure and corrosion. Its 5-layer design serves as a strong barrier against permeation of oxygen and light, further guaranteeing healthier water supply. Since its debut in China, RIFENG Multilayer Pipe has greatly improved people’s indoor plumbing habits, and led the plumbing industry to upgrade standards and codes.

As the local demand tremendously exceeds supply, RIFENG decided to set up a factory in the central of Ethiopia, so as to satisfy the urgent market demand more quickly. Beneficial from the convenient railway network around its factory, backed up by its automatically intelligent production and strict quality control, RIFENG is sure to deliver piping products and services at a much faster pace.

Not just about manufacture expansion, but about people’s wellbeing improvement
Covering an area of 42,000 SQM, the first phase project of the factory is under construction. Once the factory built, it can create at least 500 job opportunities for local people. Additionally, RIFENG plans to send professional technical teams from headquarter to Ethiopia, which can help nurture high-quality and skilled workers and partly optimize the employment market.

Stay true to its original aspiration, RIFENG has kept on forging ahead with the purpose of improving global people’s life firmly in mind. Continuing its pursuit of product innovation and service improvement, RIFENG Group will, as always, serve customers and partners with heart and soul and strive for the wellbeing of all people in the world.
