The COVID-19 outbreak has spread throughout the world since the first cases were detected in central China in December. This outbreak has been declared as a public health emergency of international concern.
The spread of the COVID-19 in China and across the world has been quick and unexpected. The Hubei region’s economy was affected to certain extent. With the strict actions of epidemic prevention and control measures taken by the Chinese government, the situation in China is gradually under control. However, reducing population movements and strict epidemic prevention measures have made it difficult for enterprises to resume. Based on the government's prophylactic measures and guidance, Rifeng took a positive and effective action to resume production recently. Currently, the capacity of Rifeng has returned to near pre-holiday levels. Rifeng’s current monthly capacity of plastic pipes is around 160 million meters, and the monthly capacity of metal fittings is around 75 million sets. Moreover, according to the current capacity and the development plan of the enterprise in the next 5 years, Rifeng is planning to increase the capacity by 15% this year.

The sudden and unexpected COVID-19 outbreak has caught many businesses unprepared, but all walks of life in the country still contributed their own strength to fight the epidemic. Beginning January 25th Rifeng group took immediate action to provide construction assistance to six makeshift hospitals in five regions of China. Within one week, piping products worth over one million yuan were donated and emergency dispatched to five cities including Wuhan for hospital construction. In addition, Rifeng took swift measures for emergency preparedness and made every effort to ensure continued production in order to minimize the effect to the company’s capacity to meet the needs of the industry. Currently, the factory is operating smoothly and back on track. With over hundred production lines, Rifeng has enough confidence and strength to meet the changes in the industry.

When emergency situations such as this COVID-19 outbreak occur, and the longer it lasts, there are high costs to both the individual and corporate sectors. The impact can be high without an emergency plan in place. Rifeng and many other companies that have been impacted have relied on their official policies and the quick actions of the corporate headquarters to ensure that all lines are back up and running to meet capacity. New reviews of emergency policies are also being worked on to improve response time.
